The Bahamas was well represented at the recently concluded 2nd China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum that was held in the margins of the 11th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, from September 6 to 11, 2007, in Xiamen, China.
The Bahamas delegation, consisting of some 26 persons, was led by the Minister of State for Finance, the Honorable Zhivargo Laing and included representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation, the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce, the Bahamas Financial Services Board, the Nassau Guardian and the Tribune Ltd.
The Minister delivered a Country Address at the opening ceremonies and during the Tourism Cooperation Seminar, Mrs. Lorraine Armbrister, Under Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, gave an overview of tourism in The Bahamas.
A prominent Bahamian feature at the Forum and Fair was a promotional booth organized by the Bahamas Embassy in Beijing.
