Celebration of the 34th Anniversary of the Independence of The Bahamas

Close to 400 guests, led by the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, He Yafei, gathered at the Hilton Hotel in Beijing to join in the celebration of the 34^th Anniversary of the Independence of The Bahamas.

In a brief ceremony, the host, Philip Miller, Head of the Bahamas Embassy in Beijing, read the Independence Message from the Bahamas Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable T. Brent Symonette.

Many of the well-wishers, in addition to congratulatory remarks, presented Mr. Miller with gifts, as tokens of the close friendship between the peoples of China and The Bahamas.
