The Bahamas Embassy in Beijing issues visas for The Bahamas to persons resident in the People’s Republic of China who require a visa to enter The Bahamas. The Embassy accepts visa applications in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The Embassy also accepts mail-in applications from the following Asian and Pacific countries and territories: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Cook Islands, East Timor, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, North Korea, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Pitcairn, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam, and Wallis and Futuna.

Note: Mail-In Applicants – The Embassy recommends that all mail-in applications be sent via courier. Such applications MUST include a pre-paid courier envelope/air waybill and all original documentation (including the original Passport) and certified translations, where applicable to enable timely processing. Please note that the Embassy takes no responsibility for any documents lost in transit.

 
Persons wishing to work in The Bahamas must submit the application for a work permit through their prospective employer to the Director of Immigration in The Bahamas. 

 
Walk-In & Mail-In Visa Applicants must submit the following:

1. Bahamas Embassy (Beijing) visa application form completed in English using block letters (DOE, JOHN) and black or blue ink only.

2. A passport, valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of arrival in The Bahamas, and having at least one blank visa page. (Any previous passports should also be submitted.)

3. Two colour 45mm X 35mm passport photographs taken within 6 months of the date of application. The photographs should be full face (without sunglasses), taken against a white background and should be clear and of professional quality. The name of the applicant must be written on the back of the photograph.

4. Copy of travel itinerary (air or cruise) or return ticket, or in the case of private or chartered service, a letter confirming the date of travel with English translation, if applicable. Applicant should have a transit visa, if required, for any countries to be transited en route to The Bahamas.

5. Certified copy of character/police certificate issued within the last 6 months by country/city/province where currently domiciled along with notarized English translation. (Persons under 16 years old, Persons travelling to and from The Bahamas via cruise and Persons holding US, UK, Canadian or Schengen visas are exempted from this requirement.)

6. Certified copies of all documents related to the applicant’s immigration status in the country of residence, with notarized English translations, if resident in a country other than the country of citizenship.

7. Evidence of current employment or occupation. For self-employed persons, a certified copy of the business licence/registration is required, if applicable, in addition to general information about the business i.e. type of company, year of establishment, number of employees.

8. Evidence of monthly income or a bank letter indicating banking history for the past two years, with notarized English translation. 

9. The applicant must submit the Hukou (family registration book) if applicable, with a notarized English translation of all pages. For minor children, proof of legal guardianship must be provided. If only one parent is travelling with the child, a letter from the parent/guardian not travelling must be submitted with the application.

10. Letter of invitation, with notarized English translation, if applicable.

11. A (non-refundable) US$160 visa processing fee for a single entry visa; or US$250 for a multiple entry visa. All USD payment must be wire transferred to the Embassy. No cash payments, cheques, or money orders will be accepted. * Applicants wishing to wire transfer visa fees can contact the Embassy for transfer details.

12. Any other documentation requested by the Embassy.

Applicants with a Sponsor in The Bahamas must submit the following in addition to the above documents:

13.  Letter from Sponsor, indicating where applicant will reside in The Bahamas, purpose of applicant’s stay in The Bahamas, and who will cover applicant’s cost of travel.

14.  Copy of sponsor’s passport/work permit (if applicable)/permit to reside (if applicable).

15.  Copy of sponsor’s business licence (if applicable).

Sponsors will be required to present themselves to the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an interview, and submit any documentation required at that time. The Consular Division can be contacted at:

Applications will be considered, in the first instance, only for a single entry visa. An application may be considered for a multiple entry visa, provided the application is supported in writing, with the pertinent documentation attached.

All documentation submitted in support of the visa application should be in English and will remain the property of the Bahamas Embassy regardless of whether the application was successful. Should an applicant require original documents to be returned, please include copies, along with the originals, in the submission.
 
Note: All applicants who wish to have their passports returned by mail must provide a pre-paid courier envelope or a pre-paid air waybill for courier service. Applicants should check with the nearest courier or postal service for appropriate fees.

Note: Group Applicants – Persons applying for visas in groups of 5 or more must contact the Embassy to schedule an appointment for an interview.
